A Day on the Course, A Milestone for a Cause I Love

There are moments that stay with you, not because everything went perfectly, but because everything felt aligned. Hosting my first-ever charitable golf tournament in support of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada was one of those moments.

For the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside this remarkable organization as a member of the Executive Leadership Committee. Over that time, I’ve been involved in several fundraising initiatives, including our national Light The Night campaign. Each event has carried its own impact, but this tournament felt especially personal.

This was the first time I had ever created something like this from the ground up—and I’ll be honest, it was both exciting and terrifying. I’ve planned events before, but this meant so much more. The cause is incredibly close to my heart, and I wanted nothing more than to see this day succeed, not just as an event, but as a meaningful contribution to a mission I deeply believe in.

Golf felt like the natural choice.

I love the sport, the sunshine, the fresh air, the simple joy of being outdoors, and the way a little friendly competition brings people together. Golf creates space for connection, conversation, and shared experiences, and it felt like the perfect backdrop to rally support for a cause that matters so deeply to me.

What unfolded on tournament day exceeded every expectation.

The event sold out, the course was filled with energy, and our sponsors showed up in a way that truly elevated the experience. Every detail, on and off the course, was thoughtfully supported by partners who believed in the mission and helped make the day unforgettable for everyone who attended.

Most meaningful of all was what we accomplished together.

As part of our Light The Night campaign, our committee not only hosted a successful event, but we also reached our fundraising goal of raising over $1 million in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. That milestone represents hope, progress, and tangible impact for patients and families affected by blood cancers across the country.

This tournament was about more than a love for golf. It was about community, generosity, and the power of coming together to create meaningful change. I truly am on a mission to cure cancer forever, and this day reinforced what’s possible when passion meets purpose.

Thank You to the Organizing Committee

This event would not have been possible without the dedication, leadership, and countless behind-the-scenes hours contributed by our organizing committee. Your passion for the mission, attention to detail, and unwavering commitment carried this tournament from idea to reality. I am deeply grateful to work alongside such an inspiring group of individuals who consistently go above and beyond in support of Light The Night and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.

Thank You to Our Sponsors

To our sponsors—thank you for your generosity, belief in the cause, and commitment to making a difference. Your support not only helped make this tournament a success, but also ensured that every dollar raised would go toward advancing the mission of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. Your involvement added incredible value to the day, and your impact will be felt far beyond the course.

Looking Ahead

As I reflect on this incredible day, I’m already looking ahead to what’s next.
